DES Pharma and Adept Packaging Partner to Streamline Drug Development
Packaging is frequently sidelined until the final stages of drug development, a delay that often triggers regulatory hurdles and ballooning costs. DES Pharma Consulting and Adept Packaging are now merging their respective expertise in CMC strategy and engineering to integrate these critical workflows from the earliest research phases.

The alliance, formalized in June 2026, aims to solve the disconnect between chemical manufacturing controls (CMC) and final product packaging. By aligning these processes, the firms intend to mitigate late-stage risks during pivotal moments such as Phase 2 scale-ups and Phase 3 clinical supply. DES Pharma brings deep experience in regulatory compliance and quality assurance, while Adept Packaging contributes specialized knowledge in container closure systems and material qualification.
Meade Medaugh, CEO of DES Pharma Consulting, noted that the partnership allows companies to maintain high quality and compliance standards while increasing development speed. Jim Regan, head of packaging services at Adept, added that early coordination directly impacts supply chain efficiency and patient access. The combined team draws on a deep talent pool, with DES consultants averaging over two decades of industry experience and a track record of supporting more than 25 regulatory filings.
