Inside Esmeralda's Mayfair: A New York-Inspired Nightlife Haven
Tucked inside the Mandarin Oriental Mayfair, Esmeralda’s is reshaping London’s after-dark landscape with a high-energy fusion of live soul, disco, and late-night indulgence. Open Thursday through Saturday, the venue brings a distinctively cinematic, New York-inspired pulse to Hanover Square for those seeking an elevated nightlife experience.

Founded by twins Lee and Nicky Caulfield, the lounge bridges the gap between luxury hospitality and live entertainment. Lee, a veteran of high-profile PR, and Nicky, a professional drummer and curator for brands like Hermès, designed the space as a response to what they viewed as a void in the city’s nightlife scene. The result is a venue where a five-piece resident band anchors the evening with soul and funk, eventually yielding the floor to DJs spinning disco-infused house music until the early hours.
The menu mirrors this eclectic energy. Signature drinks like the Dubai Layover—a pistachio-infused twist on the Espresso Martini—stand alongside a food selection that leans into comfort-luxury. Patrons can order anything from NYC-style pepperoni pizzetta and truffle-Mornay hotdogs to the signature Caviar Nugget topped with Ossetra. The experience concludes with a ritualistic touch: a complimentary mini champagne coupe served as the bill arrives, cementing the venue's commitment to atmosphere.
