Dubai Hosts IBD Summit 2026 to Advance Regional Gastroenterology
Under the theme "The IL-23 era for IBD: UAE Experience Exchange," H.E. Mubaraka Ibrahim opened the IBD Summit 2026 at the Marriott Marquis Dubai. The gathering convenes regional experts and medical professionals to refine treatment strategies and integrate emerging technology into patient-centered care for those living with chronic bowel conditions.
Chief Information and AI Officer at Emirates Health Services, Mubaraka Ibrahim, highlighted the necessity of bridging medical expertise with digital innovation to improve clinical outcomes. The two-day event focuses on aligning regional practices, fostering knowledge exchange among gastroenterologists, and establishing new standards for disease management across the GCC.
The summit agenda features multidisciplinary discussions and scientific sessions, including the introduction of the GCC IBD Patient Conversation Guide. Organizers also unveiled an IBD Remission Pledge Wall and honored Nadine Omar for her pioneering work in the ECCO IBD Nursing Certification Program. Pedro Matos-Rosa, General Manager at Janssen/J&J Gulf, noted that the platform acts as a critical hub for collaboration, aiming to accelerate the adoption of innovative therapies and improve the daily lives of patients throughout the region.
