Envision Energy to Supply Record-Breaking Turbines for Narrogin Wind Farm

Neoen has issued a notice to proceed to Envision Energy for the 179MW Narrogin Wind Farm in Western Australia, marking the deployment of the largest wind turbines ever installed in the country. The project serves as a key expansion for Envision, signaling a shift toward more intelligent, grid-integrated renewable infrastructure.

The Narrogin site will feature 23 of Envision’s EN182-7.8 MW smart turbines, each standing with a 155-metre hub height and a 182-metre rotor diameter. Once operational, the facility is expected to generate enough electricity to power nearly 100,000 homes annually, accounting for approximately 3% of the yearly demand on Western Australia's South West Interconnected System.

This contract represents Envision’s second major Australian project in a year and its first grid-connected installation for a local client, linking directly to Western Power’s 220kV transmission network. To ensure long-term reliability, Envision has secured a 30-year operations and maintenance agreement with Neoen. The installation work will be executed in collaboration with UGL and CPB Contractors, both members of the CIMIC Group. Regional leaders from both companies emphasized that the project relies on integrating smart wind technology with AI-enabled management systems to bolster the resilience of the local grid.
