Robinhood adds medical lab testing as flagship Platinum Card benefit

Americans spend more time monitoring their stock portfolios than their physical well-being, a gap Robinhood hopes to bridge by integrating Function health memberships into its new Platinum Card. The move signals a broader shift toward treating personal health as a long-term asset rather than a reactive expense.

Starting now, eligible Robinhood Platinum Card holders receive a complimentary annual membership to Function, a platform providing access to over 160 lab tests. The service, valued at $365, includes biannual testing and clinician-reviewed results. By embedding this benefit, Robinhood aims to align financial growth with physical health management, framing the latter as a necessary prerequisite for enjoying future wealth.

Jonathan Swerdlin, CEO of Function, noted that the partnership democratizes access to comprehensive health data previously reserved for expensive executive physicals. Sanjay Kotte, Chief Commercial Officer at Robinhood Money, emphasized that the decision reflects the company's evolving definition of personal investment. The Platinum Card is currently rolling out on an invite-only basis, marking a move to integrate health-tech into the financial services ecosystem.
