50/50 Women on Boards unveils 2026 cohort of board-ready leaders
Fifty women from across North America have been named to the 2026 cohort of 'Women to Watch for Boards,' a program designed to bridge the gap between highly qualified executive talent and public companies. The honorees were selected from a pool of 314 applicants by an independent committee of governance experts.

These leaders will be formally recognized this September during Global Summit Week in New York City. The initiative, spearheaded by the nonprofit 50/50 Women on Boards, aims to provide nominating committees and executive search firms with a vetted pipeline of candidates capable of addressing the growing demand for diverse corporate governance. According to CEO Heather Spilsbury, the program serves as a direct link for recruiters seeking to fill vacancies with directors who have been rigorously vetted by sitting board chairs and stock exchange leaders.
The selection process involved a panel of industry veterans, including Maria Ariza of BIVA, David Chun of Equilar, and Sheila Hooda of Enact Holdings. Beyond the initial recognition, cohort members gain access to specialized educational programs and networking opportunities with CEOs and governance decision-makers. Companies looking to review the full list of candidates or engage with the directory can access the organization’s searchable database to align specific search criteria with the expertise of the selected honorees.
