CytoDyn Reaches Class Action Settlement Over Stock Losses
Investors who purchased CytoDyn Inc. common stock between March 27, 2020, and March 30, 2022, are eligible to participate in a newly proposed class action settlement. The agreement, which seeks to resolve long-standing litigation against the company and its former executives, involves a payout of 49 million shares and $500,000 in cash.

The settlement follows a legal battle in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Washington, where plaintiffs alleged financial damages stemming from their holdings in the pharmaceutical company. Defendants in the case include CytoDyn Inc. alongside former leadership figures Nader Z. Pourhassan, Michael Mulholland, and Scott A. Kelly. If approved by Judge Benjamin H. Settle, the deal will provide a path for class members to recover losses, provided they adhere to strict filing requirements.
To qualify for a distribution from the settlement fund, eligible investors must submit a valid claim form online or via mail by September 21, 2026. Those who wish to opt out of the class to preserve their right to pursue separate litigation must file a formal exclusion request by October 12, 2026. A final hearing to review the fairness and adequacy of the agreement is scheduled for November 2, 2026, in Tacoma, Washington. Detailed documentation and instructions for claimants are available through the official settlement website.
