Samsung Eliminates the Crease in Z Fold 8 Ultra

After years of visible display ridges, Samsung’s latest foldable smartphone finally achieves a near-seamless surface. By integrating a new titanium film beneath the OLED panel, the Z Fold 8 Ultra effectively removes the physical crease that has long defined the compromise of folding screen technology.

The breakthrough stems from the company's new Flex Titanium display tech. By bonding a titanium film—which offers 20 times the mechanical stiffness of previous polymer versions—to a titanium plate, Samsung has smoothed the center of the display to a degree that makes the fold practically invisible. While intense pressure reveals a faint trace, the transition is undetectable during standard operation.

This shift positions Samsung to compete directly with rivals like Oppo, which recently addressed similar hardware limitations using 3D liquid printing in the Find N6 hinge. Although the Z Fold 8 Ultra retains the familiar silhouette of the Fold7, the internal engineering marks a substantial refinement in display durability and user experience.
