MegazoneCloud and Korean Re Partner to Automate Reinsurance via AI

The collaboration, formalized on July 22 at Signature Towers in Seoul, aims to establish a long-term “Tech Companion” model. By deploying MegazoneCloud’s AI orchestrator services, Korean Re intends to refine its underwriting and rate-setting processes while automating enterprise-wide tasks through AI-powered robotic process automation. The partnership marks a shift toward cloud-native environments designed to handle the complex, data-heavy variables inherent in global reinsurance.

Korean Re has already begun laying the groundwork for this transition, notably through an AI Innovation Task Force established last year. The firm is currently developing an AI Assistant for Commercial Insurance Rate Calculation, a project recognized by the Financial Services Commission as an Innovative Financial Service. CIO Jae Moon Lee emphasized that the ability to synthesize vast datasets for decision-making will dictate future market competitiveness. MegazoneCloud CAIO Seong Bae Kong noted that their role will involve orchestrating multiple AI agents to navigate the stringent security and network separation requirements mandatory within the financial sector.
