Philippe Morel takes the helm at Munich-based IDnow, succeeding long-time CEO Andreas Bodczek. Morel arrives with a three-decade tenure in financial services and technology, including leadership roles at Railsr and SETL. His background, which includes a long-standing partnership with Boston Consulting Group, centers on scaling regulated platforms and navigating complex digital infrastructure. At IDnow, he inherits a business that has recently expanded its scope to include biometric authentication and continuous risk monitoring.

His predecessor, Andreas Bodczek, departs after a seven-year tenure that fundamentally reshaped the company. Under his guidance, IDnow transitioned from a founder-led entity to a private equity-backed organization, notably acquiring French market leader ARIADNEXT and identity Trust Management AG. Board Chair Martin McCourt cited this transition and the recent launch of the Trust Platform as the catalysts for the leadership change, noting that Morel’s experience in regulated environments aligns with the firm's ambition to maintain its footprint in the European digital identity market.
