Command Zero Debuts Throughline to Automate SOC Case Evolution
Security teams often struggle with fragmented alerts that capture only a single moment in time, missing the broader scope of multi-week attacks. Ahead of Black Hat USA 2026, Command Zero is launching Throughline, a capability designed to link related alerts into a single, living investigation that constantly re-evaluates its verdict.

Traditional security platforms treat alerts as isolated events, filing reports and moving on once a point-in-time check is complete. Throughline shifts this paradigm by forcing a case to remain open as long as an attack persists. When new evidence surfaces, the system re-executes previous investigative questions and updates the verdict accordingly. Instead of relying on static correlation rules, the platform uses governed AI to reason through data, incorporating organizational context like past analyst notes, company policies, and asset inventories.
Early testing indicates the approach significantly reduces the volume of noise facing security operations centers. In production environments, the platform cut the number of verdicts analysts had to review by up to 41 percent. By assembling disparate exploitation attempts—even those originating from different IP addresses—into a unified timeline, the system identifies campaigns that previously appeared as unrelated, scattered events.
Beyond investigative continuity, the platform introduces automated alert closure based on user-defined policies and evidence-based tuning recommendations. For teams building custom security pipelines, the system provides programmatic access via APIs and an MCP server. This allows security engineers to integrate the platform’s auditable data directly into SOAR playbooks and third-party AI agents, such as Claude. According to co-founder and CTO Dean De Beer, the tool bridges the structural gap between how attackers operate over weeks and how standard tools limit investigations to individual, disconnected incidents.
