KuCoin Marks Ninth Anniversary With 45 Million User Milestone

More than 45 million users now rely on KuCoin, a figure that anchors the platform’s 2026 mid-year report as it pivots from a standard exchange into a broader infrastructure provider. Celebrating nine years of operation, the company is doubling down on regulatory compliance and the integration of digital assets into global payment systems.

The report, titled 'Beyond the Signal,' details a period of aggressive expansion in emerging markets, specifically noting a 170% surge in new users across Latin America and Africa. This growth aligns with a strategic shift toward institutional services, evidenced by a broker network that has expanded to over 400 partners. The platform’s Crypto-as-a-Service ecosystem now supports more than 120 partners, signaling a demand for modular infrastructure that bridges the gap between digital assets and traditional finance.

Central to this strategy is a $2 billion investment in the 'Trust Project,' which emphasizes security certifications such as SOC 2 Type II and ISO/IEC 27001:2022. KuCoin has also bolstered its international footprint with AUSTRAC registration in Australia and MiCAR authorization in Europe. Beyond core trading, the platform is betting on real-world utility: KuCoin Pay saw a 25-fold increase in total orders, while the launch of KuCard in Australia marks a move toward familiarizing consumers with crypto-based payment methods.

Technological development remains focused on the KIA AI assistant, which has evolved into an intelligence layer across eight trading and asset management scenarios. With daily active users of the tool growing by 300%, the company is positioning itself to support agent-ready crypto infrastructure. CEO BC Wong noted that the platform’s longevity is rooted in its focus on transparent, secure systems rather than market volatility, framing the next decade as a transition toward embedding crypto into the global economic architecture.
