Gravity Debuts AI Agent to Automate Sustainability Workflows
Sustainability teams often spend weeks mired in manual reporting and data analysis, leaving little room for actual decarbonization. San Francisco-based Gravity is attempting to change this dynamic with the launch of its new AI agent, a tool capable of executing complex platform tasks that previously required extensive human intervention.

The Gravity Agent arrives with a library of 85 specialized skills developed by the company’s in-house energy and climate experts. Unlike narrow AI tools that merely parse spreadsheets or answer basic queries, this agent operates as an extension of the user. It navigates the platform’s API to perform actions—from migrating historical data to drafting regulatory disclosures—that once consumed days of labor. Early pilots indicate that customers have reduced the time required for these workflows by 70% or more.
Co-Founder and CTO Ted Kornish emphasizes that the industry has diluted the definition of an AI agent, often applying the term to simple automation scripts. Gravity’s version is designed to handle multi-step processes, deciding on necessary actions and working in the background while flagging tasks for human review only when needed. To ensure data integrity, the agent does not operate autonomously on high-stakes changes; all actions require human approval and are fully logged for audit readiness. Furthermore, the company maintains that it does not use client data to train its underlying models, relying instead on its deterministic calculation engine for emissions math. As the company scales, it intends to continue expanding the agent’s skill library while providing tools for customers to measure the carbon footprint of their own AI usage.
