SouthState Bank Boosts Dividend Following Solid Second Quarter Growth

SouthState Bank Corporation reported a net income of $230 million for the second quarter of 2026, prompting the board to increase the quarterly cash dividend to $0.66 per share. The Winter Haven-based lender saw a 3% increase in net interest income alongside improved asset quality and loan growth.

The company’s performance highlights a stable financial trajectory, with diluted earnings per share reaching $2.35, representing an 11% year-over-year increase. Loans grew by $1.4 billion during the quarter, an 11% uptick compared to the previous three-month period, while deposit costs remained flat at 1.76%.

John C. Corbett, CEO of SouthState, noted that the bank’s strategy centers on balance sheet expansion, opportunistic hiring, and the integration of artificial intelligence capabilities. Asset quality metrics showed progress as well, with non-accruals and charge-offs declining to 0.06% of average loans. The board’s decision to raise the dividend from $0.60 to $0.66 per share is set for payment on August 14, 2026, to shareholders of record as of August 7.
