Virginia National Bankshares Reports Profit Surge on Bearing Transaction

The Charlottesville-based financial institution saw its performance bolstered by a $4.7 million gain from the Bearing transaction, which pushed noninterest income up by 360% year-over-year. Beyond this one-time gain, the company reported operational improvements, including a 13-basis-point reduction in the cost of funds and lower noninterest expenses, which helped drive the efficiency ratio to 41.6% from 61.2% in the second quarter of 2025.

Glenn W. Rust, President and CEO, attributed the results to a combination of strong core performance and disciplined balance sheet management. The bank's return on average assets improved to 2.24%, while the return on average equity climbed to 18.81%. In light of these results, the Board of Directors declared a quarterly cash dividend of $0.36 per share, payable on August 28, 2026, to shareholders of record as of August 14.
