Potomac Bank Taps Malinda Henkel to Lead Winchester Market Expansion

Henkel joins the bank following a tenure at United Bank, where she served as Vice President and Dual Branch Manager. Her professional background also includes senior roles at Marathon Bank and First Union Bank, alongside an accounting and business administration degree from Laurel Ridge Community College. Ron Burley, the bank's Executive Vice President and Chief Retail Banking Officer, noted that her local ties and industry experience are central to transplanting the institution's 155-year-old community banking model into the new territory.

Beyond her professional duties, Henkel maintains deep roots in the region as a current board member for the Rotary Club of Winchester and a former board member for the United Way of Northern Shenandoah Valley. Her appointment aligns with the bank's broader strategy to expand its footprint beyond its West Virginia and Maryland operations. Potomac Bank, which manages $976 million in assets, currently operates a network of nine branches and two loan production offices, consistently earning recognition as one of the nation's top community banks.
