Niutech Unveils Low-Temperature Method for Titanium-Iron Recovery
A demonstration project currently under construction in Linyi, Shandong, aims to redefine how industry extracts minerals from low-grade waste. Niutech’s new titanium-iron tailings technology has achieved an internationally advanced rating, signaling a shift toward more efficient, lower-carbon mineral recovery for complex resource deposits across Asia.

The facility, designed to process 300,000 tons of tailings annually, utilizes a proprietary low-temperature pyrolysis and in-situ reduction process. By using organic waste like plastics as a reducing agent, the system generates necessary gases internally, effectively bypassing the intense heat requirements traditionally demanded by smelters. This technical pivot allows for stable reduction at temperatures between 550°C and 600°C, a significant departure from standard industrial methods that often exceed 700°C.
Efficiency gains remain central to the project's design. The system reports a waste heat recovery rate exceeding 93%, contributing to a 36% reduction in energy consumption and a 40% drop in CO₂ emissions compared to conventional setups. Niutech has integrated intelligent monitoring and dynamic sealing to maintain continuous operation, positioning the Linyi site as a blueprint for future green mineral processing. The company intends to scale these solutions globally, targeting a market increasingly focused on the intersection of solid waste management and strategic mineral security.
