Charter Communications Reports Q2 2026 Financial Results
Charter Communications reported second-quarter revenue of $13.5 billion, a 1.7% year-over-year decline, as the company navigates a competitive telecommunications landscape. While Spectrum Mobile added 406,000 lines to reach 12.5 million total, the firm saw continued contraction in its residential internet and video customer bases during the three-month period ending June 30.

The company’s financial performance reflects a transitional phase characterized by aggressive market competition and ongoing infrastructure investment. Net income attributable to shareholders reached $1.3 billion, remaining nearly flat compared to the previous year. Adjusted EBITDA fell 4.3% to $5.4 billion, reflecting the broader revenue decline and steady operating costs. Capital expenditures remained significant at $2.9 billion, primarily driven by network evolution initiatives and rural construction projects aimed at expanding the company’s footprint.
Operational data reveals a mixed performance across core segments. Internet customers declined by 172,000, bringing the total to 29.4 million, while video subscribers decreased by 21,000 to reach 12.5 million. Despite these losses, the company is prioritizing its converged connectivity strategy, leveraging its mobile service growth and the integration of streaming applications into its video packages to stabilize customer relationships. CEO Chris Winfrey noted that the firm continues to focus on delivering product value and scale ahead of the anticipated transaction with Cox Communications.
