US and Chinese Youth Exchange Highlights Rural Development in Yunnan
Navigating the colorful diversity of Yunnan Ethnic Village, a joint China-U.S. youth delegation spent three days in Kunming examining modern rural growth. The trip served as a bridge for cultural immersion, blending visits to traditional minority settlements with high-level dialogues on sustainable development at Yunnan University.

The delegation’s itinerary stretched beyond the classroom, taking participants through the biodiversity of Laoyuhe National Wetland Park and the commercial bustle of the Dounan Flower Market. These excursions provided a tangible look at how local initiatives are reshaping the economic landscape of China’s southwestern ethnic regions. Co-hosted by the China International Communications Group Center for the Americas and the U.S.-based International Student Conferences, the program ran from July 3 to 23, encompassing travel across both nations. By pairing academic discussions on the future of bilateral relations with firsthand experiences in rural revitalization, the organizers aimed to foster deeper ties between the rising generations of both countries.
