Unisport Names Denise Karkos Global Chief Marketing Officer
Unisport has appointed veteran marketing executive Denise Karkos as its new Global Chief Marketing Officer to spearhead the football retailer’s international expansion. Operating from the company’s Taunton, Massachusetts office, Karkos will oversee brand strategy, content creation, and digital engagement as the firm looks to scale its footprint across North America and beyond.

Reporting to North American CEO Michael O'Connor and Global CEO Joris Van Rooy, Karkos steps into the role with a mandate to integrate data-driven analytics with community-focused marketing. Her remit covers the full spectrum of the company’s customer strategy, including influencer partnerships and creative development. Michael O'Connor noted that her experience in scaling iconic consumer brands aligns with the company’s goals for its next growth phase.
Karkos brings over three decades of leadership to the position, having previously served as Chief eCommerce Officer at Dick's Sporting Goods and held CMO roles at SiriusXM, Pandora, and TD Ameritrade. Her background in transforming omni-channel revenue models is expected to strengthen Unisport’s position as it leverages backing from private equity firm Innova Capital. The company, which maintains headquarters in Poland and Denmark, functions as a digital ecosystem for football fans, blending software, media, and retail.
