RKD Group Acquires Creative Agency Whiteboard

Plano-based RKD Group, a fundraising powerhouse that helped mission-driven organizations generate over $4.3 billion last year, has acquired the award-winning creative firm Whiteboard. The deal integrates Whiteboard’s design and digital storytelling expertise into RKD’s existing fundraising, analytics, and donor intelligence operations to better compete for donor attention.

The acquisition, which takes effect immediately, allows Whiteboard to maintain its own brand identity while operating under the RKD Group umbrella. Taylor Jones will continue to lead Whiteboard as President, while co-founder Eric Brown transitions into the role of Chief Marketing Officer for the parent company, reporting directly to RKD CEO Kevin Jones. Both parties view the merger as a way to elevate philanthropic marketing by applying consumer-grade creative standards to a sector they argue has become overly reliant on stagnant tactics.

RKD Group, founded in 1970, currently employs more than 350 people and serves over 250 enterprises, including high-profile names such as The Salvation Army and Susan G. Komen. By bringing in Whiteboard—a firm known for its work with TED Conferences and Smile Train—the agency aims to bridge the gap between technical fundraising strategy and high-impact digital experiences. The partnership is set to debut publicly this week at the Bridge Conference in Washington, D.C.
