Universal Music Group Finalizes €500 Million Share Buyback
Universal Music Group has concluded its €500 million share repurchase initiative, marking the end of a multi-month effort to consolidate equity. Between July 20 and July 24, the company acquired 634,455 shares at an average price of €18.14, effectively exhausting the total authorized capital allocation announced earlier this spring.

The final week of activity added €11.5 million to the total expenditure, bringing the cumulative investment to €499.19 million for 26.7 million shares. Launched on March 30, 2026, the program served as a strategic mechanism to return value to shareholders while managing the company's capital structure. The Hilversum-based music giant maintained transparency throughout the process, providing weekly transaction summaries via its investor relations portal to satisfy European market abuse regulations.
