Zum Launches Philadelphia Hiring Drive for School Bus Staff

With the 2026-27 school year approaching, transportation firm Zum is launching a three-day hiring event in Philadelphia to recruit drivers and bus attendants. The company is seeking to fill roles for its new contract with the School District of Philadelphia, offering on-site interviews and expedited job offers.

The recruitment drive runs from July 28 through July 30 at the Unique Experience Social Space on E. Schiller Street. Prospective employees can interview between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., with the company promising potential offer letters within three days. Pay rates for bus drivers range from $30.23 to $37.33 per hour, while attendants can earn between $20.10 and $30.00 hourly. Both positions include medical, dental, and vision benefits, along with 401(k) plans and a five-hour daily guarantee.

Zum is emphasizing the quality of its fleet as a primary draw for applicants. The company’s buses are equipped with air conditioning, ergonomic seats, and tablets for turn-by-turn navigation. Missy Lash, the company's general manager, stated that the firm aims to support both veteran drivers and those new to the profession through specialized training. Beyond the hardware, Zum utilizes a proprietary Connected Mobility Experience platform intended to provide families with real-time tracking, a system already active in more than 6,500 schools across 18 states.
