Sempra Infrastructure Reports Compressor Damage at Mexico LNG Terminal

The Ensenada facility, which reached mechanical completion in December 2025 and exported its first cargo earlier this month, is now undergoing a root cause investigation. Management expects to reach substantial completion by the fourth quarter of 2026, with long-term sales agreements set to begin shortly thereafter. The company confirmed that the operational delay will not impact its planned financial contributions for the current or upcoming fiscal year.

Elsewhere, the company’s broader portfolio remains on schedule. Construction at the Port Arthur LNG facility in Texas continues on time and within budget, with both phases expected to contribute 26 million tonnes per annum of export capacity. Support infrastructure, including the Port Arthur Pipeline Louisiana Connector and the associated storage project, is already in service. Additionally, the planned sale of Ecogas México is nearing completion following antitrust approval, with the transaction expected to generate approximately $500 million in capital for reinvestment into new energy projects.
