San Francisco-based Excedr has secured $25 million in growth capital to scale its laboratory equipment leasing platform for the life sciences sector. The capital injection allows Excedr to bolster its existing portfolio and deepen ties with original equipment manufacturers, including Danaher, Sartorius, and Bio-Rad. By providing operating leases for mission-critical instrumentation, the company enables biotech firms and research organizations to bypass heavy upfront costs, preserving their runway for R&D. The credit facility from BOK Financial, which includes both a revolving line of credit and a term loan, is specifically structured to support this operational scaling.

Jon Chee, co-founder and CEO, stated that the funding marks a significant milestone in allowing more scientists access to high-end technology without tying up working capital. As the life sciences industry faces an inflection point where R&D budgets are increasingly scrutinized, the demand for flexible, non-dilutive financing has grown. With this fresh infusion, Excedr plans to accelerate its platform development and extend its reach across therapeutics, diagnostics, and contract research organizations.
