Act Security Exits Stealth With $60 Million to Automate Cloud Access

Tel Aviv-based Act Security launched today with $60 million in backing to tackle cloud infrastructure vulnerabilities at their source. Founded by the team behind Medigate, the startup aims to replace reactive vulnerability patching with a deterministic model that strips away unused access paths before AI agents can exploit them.

The company secured $20 million in seed funding led by Team8 and Bessemer Venture Partners, followed by a $40 million Series A led by Notable Capital. This capital infusion arrives as organizations face an urgent security crisis: AI models now navigate and exploit cloud access paths at machine speed, far outpacing human-led remediation efforts. According to CEO Jonathan Langer, roughly 97% of cloud access permissions sit dormant, yet these excessive privileges are increasingly inherited by autonomous AI agents.

Act Security pivots away from traditional visibility tools that overwhelm teams with endless tables of misconfigurations. Instead, the platform enforces strict boundaries for humans, workloads, and AI agents by reasoning across identity and network access. By integrating with existing cloud-native controls, the system automates compliance with frameworks like NIST 800-53 and HIPAA, effectively shrinking the attack surface. Liran Grinberg, co-founder of Team8, noted that while the industry has spent a decade mapping risks, Act represents a shift toward structural removal of those risks in an era where breaches occur in minutes.
