The data, released by research firm Parks Associates ahead of a series of industry summits, highlights a landscape where reliable internet is no longer the sole competitive edge. With 91% of households already subscribed to at least one streaming service, providers are looking for ways to capture value beyond basic data pipes. A notable segment of the market—over 50%—expresses a clear interest in skinny bundles, while 40% of current pay-TV subscribers maintain their service specifically for local news and live programming.

Operational friction remains a significant hurdle for the industry. Approximately 56% of households reported at least one home internet service issue within the last 90 days, underscoring the demand for proactive, AI-powered support. Elizabeth Parks, President and CMO of Parks Associates, notes that consumers now prioritize seamless entertainment and digital services that simplify daily living. As companies prepare for upcoming events in Orlando, Houston, and Dallas, the focus shifts toward transforming ISPs into experience orchestrators capable of managing everything from smart home cybersecurity to complex connected community ecosystems.
