OPAQUE Launches Fellowship to Standardize Verifiable AI Governance

The program invites security engineers, researchers, and governance practitioners to work alongside Imran Siddique, creator of the Agent Governance Toolkit (AGT). Participants will contribute to the broader AgenTrust ecosystem, focusing on technical challenges such as verifying agent identity, ensuring model weights remain within secure enclaves, and developing cryptographic evidence for regulators. Unlike traditional corporate residencies, the fellowship is part-time, allowing participants to maintain their current employment while building open-source infrastructure.

This initiative arrives as the industry shifts its focus from raw model capability to enterprise-grade reliability. Current governance remains fragmented and proprietary, leaving organizations without independent ways to prove an agent followed policy post-deployment. Fellows will address this by developing standards for projects like TRACE and Agent Manifest. Applications open August 1 and close August 29, with the first cohort scheduled to begin their work in September 2026.
