YMX Logistics Secures FreightWaves AI Excellence Award
Henderson-based YMX Logistics has earned the 2026 AI Excellence in Supply Chain Award from FreightWaves, marking a significant industry milestone for the company’s integration of autonomous technology into yard management. The recognition highlights YMX's practical deployment of artificial intelligence to solve complex logistical constraints across national distribution networks.

The company received top honors in the Operational AI Integration category for its proprietary Autonomous Yard Operating System (YOS). This platform leverages a digital twin decision engine, combining machine learning, predictive analytics, and computer vision to simulate and optimize yard configurations. By analyzing variables such as fleet sizing, labor planning, and electrification strategies, the system allows shippers to quantify the financial and operational impacts of their logistics decisions before implementation.
CEO Matt Yearling noted that the award validates the company’s strategy of merging advanced technology with around-the-clock field operations to enhance safety and sustainability. Jeff Hiller, vice president of product, emphasized that the system’s value lies in its ability to anticipate constraints rather than simply automating vehicle movement. YMX shares this year’s recognition with four other organizations chosen by FreightWaves for their measurable contributions to supply chain innovation.
