M. Angel Flores Tapped to Lead Fundraising at Communities In Schools

Flores will oversee the Office of Advancement, working directly with executive leadership to refine fundraising strategies across the organization’s national and local chapters. Her mandate focuses on scaling philanthropic partnerships to support students in Title I schools, a mission she approaches through a lens of both professional expertise and personal advocacy. As a public school graduate and an elected school board member, her connection to the sector is rooted in experience beyond the boardroom.

National President and CEO Rey Saldaña noted that Flores’ background in managing campaigns ranging from $20 million to $4 billion makes her a vital addition to the executive team. Before joining the Arlington-based organization, she held leadership positions at CCS Fundraising and the Alvin Ailey Dance Foundation. Her appointment comes as Communities In Schools seeks to solidify its presence in over 3,500 schools nationwide, aiming to remove systemic barriers for students through long-term community resource integration.
