Landis+Gyr Revenue Dips as Firm Shifts Focus to Share Buybacks
Energy technology provider Landis+Gyr reported a 6.8% decline in net revenue for the first quarter of fiscal year 2026, totaling $232.3 million. Despite the softening sales, the company signaled a strategic pivot by accelerating its share buyback program following the successful completion of its recent EMEA transaction.

The Switzerland-based firm, which operates under a newly implemented reporting structure, saw its order intake slip to $167.0 million compared to $171.7 million in the same period last year. However, internal efficiency gains pushed the adjusted gross profit margin to 37.4%, a 280-basis-point increase over the previous year, resulting in an adjusted gross profit of $87.0 million.
CEO Peter Mainz attributed the revenue fluctuation to the timing of project deployments, noting that the company’s underlying pipeline activity remains robust. As the organization transitions into its new segment structure, management has reaffirmed its financial guidance for the full 2026 fiscal year. Looking ahead, the company is actively preparing for a U.S. listing while maintaining its primary presence on the SIX Swiss Exchange, signaling an effort to broaden its investor base while returning capital from recent divestments to shareholders.
