Kurtz brings a career defined by a hybrid of transactional work and litigation. His background includes founding Levinson Arshonsky Kurtz & Komsky LLP, where he balanced commercial finance structuring with bankruptcy and creditors' rights litigation. Beyond his legal practice, he maintains a significant profile as an expert witness and consultant for factoring and asset-based lending firms. Since 2019, he has authored over 50 articles on industry developments, including digital asset financing and UCC security interests.

Managing Partner Scott Alderton noted that the firm intends to integrate this new practice into its existing corporate finance offerings, citing a growing client need for specialized lending expertise. Kurtz, a seven-time Southern California Super Lawyer, holds a J.D. from McGeorge School of Law and serves as a Regent in the American College of Commercial Finance Lawyers. He will continue to advise clients on insolvency and complex corporate transactions in his new capacity at the Los Angeles-based firm.
