SUNON Launches ErP 2026-Compliant Fans for AI Infrastructure
As global data centers scramble to meet strict energy mandates, Kaohsiung-based SUNON has introduced a new series of Green EC fans. Engineered to comply with the EU ErP 2026 efficiency standards, the hardware integrates advanced telemetry and high-voltage support to manage the thermal demands of next-generation AI and high-performance computing.
The new lineup features smart telemetry through Modbus-RTU communication and PWM speed control, allowing host systems to dynamically adjust airflow based on real-time thermal loads. This capability aims to eliminate idle power waste and assist enterprises in hitting low-carbon targets. The fans are designed to support a wide range of architectures, from single-phase 200–277VAC to three-phase 380–480VAC, with specific engineering to handle the transition to 800VDC power systems common in modern AI data centers.
SUNON has focused on durability and safety for industrial deployment, offering IP68 ingress protection for outdoor use and ATEX certification for hazardous, gas-prone environments. The fans utilize the company's proprietary MagLev motor technology and VAPO bearings, which stabilize the rotor to reduce mechanical friction and vibration. According to the manufacturer, these design choices extend the operational lifespan of the units, making them suitable for sensitive medical and laboratory applications. By integrating these fans, SUNON aims to provide a bridge for global clients transitioning to stricter environmental regulations without compromising hardware reliability.
