Cyrano Therapeutics to Unveil Phase 2 Smell Loss Trial Data at ARS
The first presentation slot at the American Rhinologic Society’s upcoming annual meeting will focus on a new treatment for post-viral smell loss. Researchers are set to detail findings from the FLAVOR trial, a randomized study testing the efficacy of CYR-064 nasal spray across 14 clinical sites in the United States.
Masayoshi Takashima, the trial’s principal investigator, will present the results during the Top 5 Clinical Science track on October 16 in Los Angeles. The study evaluated the safety and performance of CYR-064, a proprietary intranasal formulation of a phosphodiesterase inhibitor, in patients suffering from persistent hyposmia. The trial utilized a double-blind, placebo-controlled design to assess whether the treatment could effectively restore olfactory function by enhancing neuron excitability.
Rick Geoffrion, CEO of the Delray Beach-based company, described the selection of the data for this major scientific forum as a milestone for the firm’s development pipeline. Cyrano Therapeutics aims to fill a significant gap in current medical care for olfactory disorders through its targeted regenerative approach. The presentation serves as the inaugural public disclosure of the full clinical data set following the conclusion of the Phase 2 research phase.
