HeyPolo expands family safety suite with privacy-focused tracking tools

The Vilnius-based company announced a suite of features including speed monitoring, emergency SOS alerts, and low battery notifications. These tools aim to replace manual check-in texts with automated status updates, such as arrival and departure alerts for specific locations. A new compass feature also provides directional orientation, designed for large-scale events or travel where precise street addresses are unavailable.

CEO Edvinas Sersniovas argues that traditional tracking often creates an adversarial dynamic between parents and children. By allowing users to toggle their sharing preferences, the app intends to foster voluntary connection rather than forced monitoring. Under the Surfshark umbrella, HeyPolo maintains a policy against selling user data, prioritizing a subscription model that covers an entire family group. The updated application is currently available on both the Google Play and iOS App Stores, with a 30-day trial period for new subscribers.
