Patricia Tate Breaks Glass Ceiling at Salt River Gaming Enterprises

Tate’s promotion signals a shift in leadership for the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community. Having joined the enterprise in 2004 as a controller, she rose through the ranks to serve as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, guiding the company through the expansion of Casino Arizona and the launch of Talking Stick Resort. Community President Martin Harvier cited her long-standing financial stewardship and deep institutional knowledge as the primary drivers behind her selection for the top post.

In her new capacity, Tate will manage the strategic direction of both gaming properties. Her mandate focuses on balancing long-term economic growth with the cultural values of the Salt River community. A University of Arizona graduate with advanced degrees from Keller Graduate School of Management, Tate brings a track record that includes multiple regional accolades, such as the 2026 Phoenix Business Journal Outstanding Women in Business award. She transitions into the CEO office with a mandate to foster operational excellence while maintaining the philanthropic ties she has built through her board service with the Arizona Humane Society and the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Scottsdale.
