Sieyuan Electric Deploys 420 kV RIP Bushings for Greek Power Grid

A critical substation within the Greek National Grid now operates on high-voltage technology from China, as Jiangsu Sieyuan Hertz Instrument Transformer Co., Ltd. successfully integrated its 420 kV resin-impregnated paper bushings into the local infrastructure to enhance reliability and safety across the national power network.

The project required the rapid delivery of high-performance components to meet strict grid commissioning timelines. Over a five-month span, the company supplied 17 units of 280MVA/400kV power transformer bushings, chosen for their ability to withstand the specific operational demands of the Greek system. The hardware utilizes an oil-free and gas-free dry structure, which reduces fire and explosion risks while eliminating the need for routine maintenance.

By maintaining internal control over the entire value chain—from initial engineering design to final testing—Sieyuan Hertz has positioned itself as one of the few global manufacturers capable of producing bushings across all voltage levels. This installation highlights the company's push to expand its footprint in European energy markets, focusing on grid modernization and the integration of diverse power sources into existing transmission architectures.
