PowerBank to Consult on Victoria County Solar Strategy
PowerBank Corporation has secured a role supporting Sydney-based TriMac Engineering in developing a comprehensive solar roadmap for Nova Scotia’s Victoria County. The initiative, formalized earlier this month, aims to address the municipality’s growing concerns regarding energy reliability, rising utility costs, and increasing climate-related infrastructure disruptions.
The project follows a request for proposals issued by the Municipality of the County of Victoria in June. Under the fee-for-service agreement, the team will evaluate municipal buildings and land to determine the viability of rooftop and ground-mounted solar installations. The resulting feasibility study will weigh factors such as site constraints, local electricity consumption, and potential access to provincial or federal incentive programs.
This contract marks a continuation of the existing partnership between PowerBank and TriMac, who are currently collaborating on three community solar projects in Nova Scotia with a combined capacity of 12.4 MW. PowerBank, which maintains a development pipeline exceeding 1 GW, intends to leverage its technical expertise to navigate the site-specific challenges of the Victoria County mandate.
