Dogtails Mixology Brings Canine-Friendly Cocktails to the Party
Dogs are already part of the backyard barbecue and the lakeside gathering, but their bowls rarely match the craft cocktail in their owner’s hand. Wisconsin-based Dogtails Mixology is closing that gap with a new line of premium recipe cards that pair human-grade libations with veterinarian-approved canine treats.
The flagship product, a $28 recipe deck, features 24 craft cocktail instructions alongside 24 dog-safe "dogtails." Each ingredient selection underwent review by staff at the Oconomowoc Animal Hospital to ensure safety for four-legged guests. Printed on thick, matte cardstock, the set includes tips for mocktail substitutions, party planning, and canine-friendly appetizers. A companion set of recycled-material cocktail napkins is also available for $12.
Founder Brenda Murty, a former educator with a long-standing career in the Madison and Brookfield areas, developed the brand to codify the bond between owners and pets during social events. The company plans to expand its catalog soon with "Between Us Dogs," a series of greeting cards centered on the specific, often humorous behaviors shared between owners and their pets. The current collection is available for purchase online and through select retailers.
