Tangent Technologies has established a niche in the construction and industrial sectors by producing durable lumber, sheet, and structural solutions that serve as alternatives to traditional building materials. Their manufacturing platform is vertically integrated, utilizing both post-consumer and post-industrial recycled feedstock to create weather-resistant products. Beyond standard synthetic decking and fencing, the company holds patents for specialized woodgrain finishes designed to mimic the aesthetic of natural timber.

For Platinum Equity, the acquisition aligns with a long-standing strategy of managing companies across the manufacturing and industrial landscape. Founded by Tom Gores in 1995, the firm currently manages approximately $48 billion in assets. With this purchase, Tangent joins a group of roughly 60 operating companies under the Platinum banner, benefiting from the firm's established operational resources and market reach. Legal counsel for the transaction was provided by Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP, with Alston & Bird LLP managing the financing aspects.
