Appdome Launches Live Policy Updates for Mobile Security

Previously, updating a defense mechanism—such as rotating a certificate or modifying a bot-detection profile—required a lengthy cycle of engineering work and store approval. Remote Management sidesteps this by allowing security teams to alter the configuration of protections already embedded within the app. The system functions as a control layer rather than a code-distribution channel, meaning it cannot inject new features or executable logic, ensuring the app's core integrity remains intact.

To prevent unauthorized changes, every update follows a rigid Request-Approve-Deploy workflow. AI tools analyze proposed modifications to identify potential conflicts, while human administrators provide final authorization. All actions, including rejections and deployments, are recorded in the Appdome Vault, creating a searchable history for compliance teams. Jason Bloomberg, managing director at Intellyx, noted that this approach resolves the long-standing dilemma of choosing between slow app-store updates or risky, on-the-fly patching. The technology, which will be showcased at Black Hat USA 2026, is currently available to Appdome customers.
