AbsenceSoft Launches Payroll Module to Automate Leave Compensation

Forty percent of employees consider quitting after a negative leave experience, often triggered by paycheck errors during time off. Denver-based AbsenceSoft is now attempting to solve this disconnect by launching Payroll Calculations, a platform module designed to bridge the gap between leave administration and payroll processing systems.

The new tool integrates directly with the AbsenceSoft Compliance Engine, allowing administrators to generate pay estimates that account for overlapping policies, salary caps, and state benefit offsets. By moving calculations out of manual spreadsheets and into a unified system, the company aims to eliminate the reconciliation bottlenecks that currently plague HR departments. One early-adopter customer with 1,900 employees reported cutting biweekly payroll processing time from 16 hours to just two.

Jaclyn Zhuang, Chief Product Officer at AbsenceSoft, noted that the platform forces pay logic and compliance data into a single environment. The module automatically recalculates gross pay whenever a leave status changes, maintaining a complete audit trail for each case. While early users like Southern Illinois Healthcare and Charles Taylor have begun implementing the system, the module becomes generally available to all customers on August 18 as an add-on to the existing platform.
