Tiger Creek Prepares for Annual Prowl-O-Ween Benefit
Costumed guests will roam the grounds of the Tiger Creek Animal Sanctuary on October 24, as the Tyler-based rescue hosts its annual Prowl-O-Ween celebration. The four-hour event combines seasonal festivities with educational programming, offering visitors a rare look at the sanctuary's rescued big cat population during the Halloween season.
The sanctuary, which currently serves as a permanent home for over 50 rescued exotic cats, has scheduled a variety of keeper talks and enrichment demonstrations for the event. Running from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. CDT, the schedule highlights specific residents such as tigers, lemurs, and coatis. Attendees are encouraged to wear costumes and utilize the designated trick-or-treating stations scattered across the grounds.
Beyond the holiday activities, the event serves as a platform for public advocacy regarding captive animal welfare. Expert guides will lead tours detailing the histories of the sanctuary's animals and the threats facing endangered species in the wild. Because of the event's high demand, organizers have restricted capacity and recommend that guests purchase tickets through Eventbrite in advance. Proceeds from the day support the nonprofit's ongoing mission to provide specialized care for animals that cannot be returned to their natural habitats.
