Blue Chip Medical Launches SensorCell System for Advanced Wound Care

The system utilizes hundreds of independently responsive cells that offer real-time pressure visualization and targeted offloading. By allowing clinicians to customize immersion and microclimate management based on a patient’s specific anatomy, the device aims to bridge the gap between institutional care and home recovery. Unlike bulky air-fluidized beds, which are often restricted to hospital settings due to their size and maintenance requirements, this platform maintains consistent therapeutic standards across different care environments.

Ron Resnick, founder of Blue Chip Medical, noted that the technology ensures personalized surface therapy continues seamlessly after a patient is discharged. The system features six distinct therapeutic modes, including dedicated heel floats and cavity creation for high-risk areas like the coccyx and sacrum. Beyond patient comfort, the hardware includes a mobility mode that firms the surface for transfers and CPR, which independent laboratory testing indicates reduces the physical effort required by caregivers by more than 30 percent. The device is manufactured in the United States and is currently available for hospital, clinical, and home-care applications.
