NASCAR Driver Ross Chastain Joins Suburban Propane as Brand Ambassador
Ross Chastain, the eighth-generation watermelon farmer and NASCAR Cup Series driver known as the "Watermelon Man," has signed on as a brand ambassador for Suburban Propane. The partnership aims to bridge the gap between high-speed racing and the essential energy needs of America's agricultural sector.

The collaboration marks a strategic expansion of Suburban Propane’s existing footprint in the sport. As the Official Propane of NASCAR, the Whippany-based company currently provides fuel for track dryers, concessions, and event infrastructure at 21 racetracks nationwide. By aligning with Chastain—a partner in the family-run Melon 1 farming operation—the company intends to draw a direct line between the grit required on the farm and the performance demanded on the track.
Chastain will participate in community outreach and promotional campaigns designed to highlight the reliability of propane in agricultural applications. For Suburban Propane, the move serves to bolster its nearly 100-year history of servicing rural customers while promoting its shift toward renewable energy alternatives. The company, which trades on the NYSE under the ticker SPH, views the driver as a natural representative for its commitment to the agricultural communities that sustain the national economy.
