d-Matrix Acquires Wallaroo.ai to Streamline AI Deployment

Santa Clara-based d-Matrix has acquired Wallaroo.ai, marking its second major purchase in four months to bolster its data center inference capabilities. By folding in Wallaroo's orchestration platform, d-Matrix aims to simplify the transition from experimental AI models to full-scale production environments for its enterprise customers.

The integration of Wallaroo follows d-Matrix’s acquisition of GigaIO’s data center business in April. This move creates an end-to-end stack that combines high-performance silicon with advanced deployment software. The company intends to address the primary bottleneck identified by its clients: the operational complexity inherent in managing heterogeneous AI environments that utilize both GPUs and specialized XPUs.

Sid Sheth, CEO of d-Matrix, emphasized that the acquisition removes friction for engineers struggling to scale inference from single-server nodes to multi-rack systems. Vid Jain, founder of Wallaroo.ai, noted that the partnership prioritizes seamless deployment over mere raw chip speed. The acquisition comes as d-Matrix’s Corsair inference platform moves into full production, with recent deployments already confirmed within Parasail’s cloud data centers alongside NVIDIA Hopper and Blackwell architectures.
