Carrier Divests NORESCO to OPTERRA Energy Services
Carrier Global Corporation finalized the sale of its NORESCO business unit to OPTERRA Energy Services, a subsidiary of the investment firm LS Power. The transaction marks a shift in the climate solutions giant's portfolio, shedding a major energy-efficiency contractor to refine its focus on core intelligent climate and energy infrastructure.

The Palm Beach Gardens-based corporation tapped Jefferies LLC to act as its financial advisor during the negotiations, while Akerman LLP provided external legal counsel. Neither party disclosed the financial terms of the agreement. NORESCO, long recognized for its energy-savings performance contracting, moves under the umbrella of LS Power as the firm looks to bolster its specialized energy services capabilities.
Carrier continues to position itself as a leader in global climate technology, emphasizing temperature control, air quality, and cold-chain logistics. This divestiture follows a broader industry trend where major HVAC and climate solution providers streamline operations to prioritize high-growth, technology-driven segments over traditional energy-service contracting models.
