The system’s three major facilities—Long Beach Medical Center, Orange Coast Medical Center, and Saddleback Medical Center—each received multiple high-performing ratings for specific procedures and conditions. Long Beach Medical Center secured 14 such distinctions, including recognition for heart failure, stroke, and COPD care. Orange Coast Medical Center matched that total of 14, while Saddleback Medical Center earned 10, covering areas ranging from spinal fusion to lung cancer surgery.

Beyond these specialty ratings, the hospitals achieved significant regional milestones. Long Beach Medical Center ranked 22nd in California, with Orange Coast and Saddleback securing 36th and 57th spots, respectively. David Kim, M.D., president and CEO of MemorialCare, attributed the performance to a blend of community-focused care and academic-level clinical expertise. U.S. News managing editor Ben Harder noted that these ratings are based on objective metrics, including risk-adjusted mortality rates and preventable complications, derived from more than 800 million patient care records.
