PORTA Expands Frozen Pizza Reach to Target Nationwide
Target shoppers can now find Roman-style pizzas from PORTA on store shelves and online, marking a milestone for the brand as it expands to 4,500 retail locations across North America. The move signals a broader shift in consumer appetite for premium, chef-made frozen meals that prioritize traditional culinary techniques.

Since its U.S. market entry in 2024, the brand has built momentum by targeting shoppers who seek restaurant-quality ingredients without the labor of scratch cooking. According to founder Cosimo Mammoliti, the goal remains to replicate the care of his own family kitchen. Each pizza features dough fermented for 24 hours and flour sourced from a fourth-generation mill in Le Marche, Italy. By avoiding preservatives and dough conditioners, the company aims to differentiate itself in a crowded frozen aisle.
Target is currently stocking four varieties at a suggested price of $11.99 each: Pepperoni, Margherita, Mushroom & Fontina, and Sweet & Spicy Soppressata. For the Mushroom & Fontina option, chefs use a truffle béchamel base, while the Soppressata variety incorporates a housemade peperoncini honey. Company president Abby Haines noted that the expansion into Target validates the demand for high-end convenience, proving that frozen offerings can compete with fresh-prepared alternatives when quality is maintained.
