Convex Secures $57 Million to Stabilize AI-Driven Development
As AI agents accelerate software production, they frequently introduce silent data corruption when paired with traditional infrastructure. Convex, a backend platform founded by former Dropbox engineers, is addressing this reliability gap with $57 million in new Series B funding, pushing its total capital raised to $110.5 million.

The round was led by Insight Partners, with participation from Etna Labs and existing investors a16z and Spark Capital. Convex intends to use the capital to expand its San Francisco workforce and enhance its suite of agentic development tools. The company’s platform aims to eliminate the manual "glue code" that often leaves modern applications vulnerable to errors, offering a stack where ACID transactions and type safety are integrated by default.
CEO Jamie Turner noted that the platform is built on the same architectural discipline used to manage infrastructure for hundreds of millions of users at Dropbox. Current adoption reflects this focus on scale, with nearly 2 million applications built by roughly 500,000 developers. Major organizations, including OpenAI, Tripadvisor, and Solana, now utilize the platform to manage backend operations. Insight Partners Managing Director Teddie Wardi cited the product's ability to provide a consistent foundation for AI agents as the primary driver for the investment.
